50 Things I have learned during UPW – Unleash the Power Within with Tony Robbins and Joseph Mcclendon

PART I

I have just returned from Italy where I took part in Tony Robbins and Joseph McClendon’s Unleash the Power Within weekend. The seminar is a great experience… where you see how success is formed. Simple steps, taken daily. No magical keys, but repetitive action, the right action. Like deep breath that helps you concentrate and innovate.

there is no permanent connection between an event that happens in your life and the meaning you associate to it. They change as your state changes.
“there is no absolute relationship between any two experiences in life” W.Mitchell. When you know how to control your emotional state when something happens to you, you can create the outcomes you desire and then shape your future.
the decision what a particular event means, determines the quality of your life.
the way you move your body has a significant impact on the emotional state you are in. All is interconnected. Strong movements create empowering states, weak posture, rounded shoulders may lead to sadness.
people want to be entertained, they do not want to change their lives if it is them who should do the work.
the way you communicate, both with yourself and others defines the quality of your life. The clearer you are about you feelings, identity – who you are, what you want, what you can give, etc, the better satisfaction and passion and impact of your actions.
When you communicate with others, the way you stand, move, your physiology influences them in 55%, while words in 7% only.
thoughts, ideas, passion, have meaning when you put them into action. It is action that makes the difference. It lets you test your ideas and move forward. Action is the sister of Genius.
fear is one of the most essential factors that keep us away from achieving what we want. We “create” the specific phobias,to receive benefits we see as valuable, because for example we have been rewarded for doing them. An example- a kid that attracts attention of its parents every time it cries, will most likely strengthen the need for sadness and problems. Look for the benefits you have given yourself in the moments of fear or depression, sadness- they will show you the other face of those low emotions. ( depression often attracts attention)

“skills are fired by certainty” Tony Robbins. Certainty of your goal- direction, or mastery in what you do. Observe the Formula1 drivers. Their drive and passion for driving, will to win awekens their skills needed to drive the cars safely. That is also how innovation occurs. Passion and vision give the mind an area to concentrate on, and to utilize the skills one possesses.
your beliefs, about yourself or the world, will define your outcomes. You do what you believe you can, not what you are really capable of. That shows the importance of challenging yourself, by doing that, you break through your comfort zones, become stronger emotionally and physically.

Goal Setting Theory… What Makes Goal Setting so Massively Successful for You

Thinking of them and imagining the reality you want to create, if it is love, profitable and influential business, happy family, paintings, money, world travels, books etc, creates a gap between where you are now and where you want to be, and …

takes you up high. Far away from the reality you live in. During those moments, when you dream and imagine, you create illusions, where you actually feel what you want… breathe that air, feel that space. Those images take up high, and then you need to do something.

Carry on Dreaming or… jump into the unknown to catch that image, equipped with the parachute- your skills, emotional strength and belief in yourself. To come closer to your goals.

If you want to make them happen, you jump into this ocean of clouds and freedom. And whether you reach their realization or not, a safe ground, will be dependent on the skills you have and the depth of desires you have grown inside your soul.

Your dreams and plans – the safe lands that you seek, are in fact the bridges to the moments of freedom you experience on the way to your goals. Those moments of uncertainty, expand your mind and change you forever.
Creativity will take you everywhere you want to go.

How to Plant a Dream

You have a piece of land. It is a meadow, but you dream about having a garden – full of trees.

You dig a hole, not too deep and narrow, just as deep as the environment where the trees were originally grown. You take the tree, put it into the hole and cover it with soil. Water it.

For days and months you look on your piece of ground, and what you notice there is not really attractive, neither it resembles the trees you want to have. What you see are the tiny tubes with the trees hidden inside, so they can grow without too much exposure to sun or wind. But you keep going…

You water the ground, and occasionally add some fertilizers. You know that you worked well while digging the holes, you gave them the right environment so the roots could grow, and the trees might be stronger later.

The scene is still everything but the trees..

But you give them the right care from the day one. You look after the roots, so they can spread out in the soil. You avoid “glazing”. It may happen when the soil –skin that covers the bottom and sides of a hole hardens so that the roots cannot reach water or grow. You water the ground… and add the root promoting fertilizers or fungi.

Day after day, season after season, your trees become stronger and bigger. You see and hear birds coming to sit on the branches, and cherish the shadow that it gives.

Big Business Ideas: Future Speaks – Communication

Communication and the future

Richard Branson (billionaire, one of the greatest Leaders of our time) was once asked about the source of his ideas and ability to achieve excellence in nearly every new project he starts.

He said that it was simple. What you need to do is to observe the world, learn about it, raise your personal standards and you will see which areas of our world need improvement, what can be done better so the whole system functions more efficiently. For him the world is the mine of gold ideas. And he talks to people all around the world. He is a master in communication. Success comes with more responsibility.

Future

Business of the future will be based on your ability to communicate openly and be understood by other people. It has always been this way, you will say. But… we are approaching a different situation, where Climate Change and rising world population will set new standards. Not only in terms of global overpopulation ( according to the UN Population Division, it is estimated that the global community will have increased from current 7 billion to 10 or even 16 billion by 2100). What also matters is the fact that the massive growth happens in the “developing world”, and the societies in North America, Western Europe are aging. New cultures and economies are emerging.

Rapid growth and changes are happening in front of our eyes – it took us 12 years only to grow from 6 billion to 7 billion citizens…

It means both incredible challenges and opportunities for those who will be able to welcome changes and find solutions to raising problems… and to create new communities of followers, like it happens in case of Virgin or Zappos.com.

Climate will bring more rapid changes like massive flooding, hurricanes, droughts, actions toward security, safety of the ecosystem, and greater control of people…

It will shift the focus of governments, business individuals and have massive impact on poverty, food security, global safety meaning peace. Our world is interconnected, and the rising global population makes the emerging problems more complex.

Your ability to broadcast your ideas, make people believe and follow you, will be essential. The clearer your message the better connection with others. It will help you know more about their needs, and give them better solutions fast.

Why it is essential to be trusted? With more and more distractions, opportunities we have in our hands nowadays, there is less time to do everything we want. Growing complexity of our world full of economical, ecological, political, social challenges crates greater need for clarity, understanding, certainty… and authorities.

Authority

When there is not much time to learn about everything we want, most of us start looking for experts so time can be saved and… Decision making can be given to somebody else. People often want to rely on judgment of others.

Authorities create communities around themselves, product, brand or set of values. It starts to form when the message is clear and understandable.

The internet freed the information, and brought us closer to each other. We can see what is happening on the other side of the globe instantly and think of the consequences it might have on our business ventures or life in general. There is also another side to the idea of global access to information. Emotions can spread out faster. Passion for sport games, panic when markets crash or tsunami destroys cities and kills people in Japan, or joy when we see a baby Hippo being born in ZOO in Wroclaw, Poland. Things and events seem to be close and important.

Communication

Ages ago, when the roads were not that common, it was really difficult to spread the messages quickly across the countries, or to mobilize people when it was necessary, or to even know what was needed in the distant areas. Building roads created quicker connection, enriched the centralized systems, and created the feeling of belonging to a community which gave rise to countries and national identities. People were able to meet and share their stories. Roads created bonds, and bigger communities. Nowadays your mastery in understanding people and communicating, creates this net of “roads” and strengthens your business or sense of connection with the rest of the world.

faster action- due to more accurate facts and knowledge
money

In order to build a safe future, we need global unity. Through communication you will be able to understand more about the delicate state of global balance. This understanding will most likely produce extraordinary giant new businesses. And will be a necessity in any business venture that plans to exist for longer than just a decade.
